Control Systems Engineer

Job Purpose

The control system engineer will support their team and lead engineers to achieve the activities in line with business commitments. They will be responsible for the activities assigned to them but given guidance and direction from their team leader as required.

Candidates must have experience of working with at least one of the below:

  • Working with a manufacturer’s PLCs
  • Working with a manufacturer’s SCADA
  • Understanding basic Networks
  • Electrical Hardware Design

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Writing detailed documentation, such as functional design specifications, test specification and final user documentation
  • Production of system drawings, general arrangements, schematics and schedules
  • Configuration of system architecture, network connections, build of system platforms
  • Production, modification, testing and commissioning of SCADA & PLC software
  • UK Site commissioning (which may involve short periods away from home)
  • Technical support to sales teams

Control Systems Engineer Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree, Higher Level Educational qualification and/or Electrical qualifications
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Previous control system experience
  • Experience of PLC programming of at least one of – Rockwell / Siemens / Mitsubishi PLCs
  • Experience of SCADA development
    • Platforms: Rockwell FTViewSE, WinCC, ClearSCADA, Iconics
  • Clean UK Driving License
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK

Job Type:    Full-time

Salary Range: £35k to £45k dependent upon experience

Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:        Bachelor’s or higher level relevant qualification

Experience:      Systems engineering: 2 to 3 years

Language:         English (required)

Work authorisation: United Kingdom (required)
