Control Systems Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Write detailed design and test documentation
- Utilise design information to systematically program, fault find, test & commission various manufacturers PLC systems
- Utilise design information to systematically Produce, modify, test and commissioning various manufacturers SCADA/ HMIs
- Undertake electrical design, create wiring schematics and general arrangement layouts for control panels.
- Undertake commissioning activities at industrial clients’ sites and understand the real-life connections & interfaces of our systems.
- Construct and implement system architectures in industrial settings
- Be able to understand client’s system architecture/ network in order to know how modification may affect them
- Develop systems that meet our customer needs and solves specific issues or problems for them
- Understand the commercial aspects of our business, how project costs are built up and maintained
- Take responsibility for and successfully achieve your project tasks & targets
- Contribute and support project tasks within the wider team
- To undertake duties which will support the organisation in delivering day to day functions
- Represent the company in a positive manner in all tasks and actions
- Assist with out of hours support for client’s systems
Experience, Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Relevant Degree, equivalent level learning and/or 2 years+ of control systems engineering experience
Knowledge:
- Possess an interest in technology, automatic control & computers & their ongoing development
- Knowledge of engineering principles, basic industrial processes and applications
- Good understanding of the elements of a control system and how they interact
- Work towards becoming competent and knowledgeable on networking of systems and cyber-security principles
- Have and develop knowledge about client’s businesses and needs
- Excellent knowledge of mathematics, science, and technology
- Has knowledge of electrical theory, control components, robotics and automation
- Committed to staying up to date on technological advancements
Skills:
- Good technical abilities to deliver a set task with minimal supervision
- Good software skills for programming various PLCs and SCADA
- Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and problem solve
- Demonstrates a high level of communication (verbal and written) skills with colleagues and clients
- Able to demonstrate decision making skills, showing consideration to the wider team and organisation
- Undertake tasks independently when required, managing own time to deliver results
- Be able to identify complex problems, review related information to develop and evaluate options before implementing a solution
- Demonstrate ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do successfully complete a project
- Good decision-making capabilities
- Have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to foster and maintain relationship
- Show attention to detail and accuracy in work produced
- Full UK Driving license
