Principal Control Systems Engineer

Job Purpose

The Engineering Team Leader will lead and organise their engineering team’s workloads in line with our planned commercial commitments. They will be responsible for the full life cycle delivery of their team’s project(s) in both technical and quality compliance while maintaining client satisfaction. The role is split between leading a team and being technical responsible for engineering work delivered on their projects.

Candidates must have experience of working with an end client within the industrial sectors and be competent in the following disciplines:

  • Leading a project team up to 6 people for contracts up to £1m+ in value
  • Supervision of technical aspects of projects, including Coding, testing and commissioning of various manufacturer’s PLCs/ DCSs
  • Supervision of technical aspects of projects, including Coding, testing and commissioning of various manufacturer’s SCADA
  • Provide direction and design governance of all project aspects including network topologies, infrastructure and equipment selection.
  • Governance, supervision and design input into Electrical and Hardware Designs
  • Writing detailed functional design specifications
  • Production, modification, testing and commissioning of implemented projects
  • UK Site commissioning (which may involve short periods away from home)
  • Attending meetings with clients to discuss the design, surveys, programming, configuration, testing and commissioning.

Principal Control Systems Engineer Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree and/or Electrical qualifications
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Previous control system experience ( 4-5 years+ )
  • Experience of PLC programming of at least one or more of – Rockwell / Siemens / Mitsubishi PLCs
  • Experience of SCADA development on various platforms
    • Platform: Rockwell FTView, InTouch, WinCC, ClearSCADA, Iconics
  • Clean UK Driving License
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK

Job Type:    Full-time

Salary Range: £50k to £55k+ dependent upon experience
