Environmental Actions and ISO 14001 Accreditation

Inspec Solutions recognise and accepts its obligations to the environment and we are proud to declare that we will achieve ISO 14001:2015 for the business in 2024.
ISO 14001 maps out a framework that a company can follow to set up an effective environmental management system. This includes compliance, continuous improvement, pollution prevention and communication to all employees on the principles and objectives.

Actions and Meaningful Results

Throughout its history, Inspec Solutions has made significant progress to what is now recognised as Net Zero 2050. We have regularly upgraded our facilities which has reduced the company footprint for waste, water and energy.

The office facility in Sheffield, UK is only part of the story as we continue to change behaviours and processes to ensure we maintain a sustainable, responsible business with a clear purpose of keeping people safe.

Energy Reduction

As part of our ESG and move towards ISO 14001, we’ve focused on reducing our overall consumption of electricity. We now consume no gas at all.

To achieve meaningful results, we have installed intelligent lighting systems in our facilities, upgraded our hot water systems, automatically controlled unnecessary AC and heater use and reduced heat loss in specific areas alongside many other initiatives.

We have installed an electric car charging point and intend to extend this facility to encourage employees to switch to electric vehicles. We also operate a long running bike to work scheme for employees.

Ethical Culture, Positive Results

It’s really important that we operate with a positive workplace culture. We have always provided fair and equal opportunities and conditions for employees (and potential employees) and the people working in the supply chain that we interact with. Likewise our local communities and neighbours are really important in any decisions we make, particularly in our facility in Sheffield, UK.

At all times Inspec demonstrates high levels of integrity, truthfulness, and honesty to uphold personal and corporate reputations and inspire confidence and trust in our actions as a leader. We conduct our business in a competent, fair, impartial, and efficient manner, respecting our customers, suppliers and employees.
We take all reasonable care to avoid misleading statements, concealment, and overstatement in all of our interactions with our customers as we maintain long term customer partnerships through honesty and straightforward dealings at all times. We also respect the confidentiality of any information we obtain and maintain robust cyber security standards.

INSPEC Solutions in the Local Community

Inspec Solutions work, wherever possible with local businesses across South Yorkshire and is a small, but significant employer in the area, with over 40 staff at the Sheffield facility enjoying the exciting culture of the thriving region and the incredible countryside of the Peak District on our doorstep.

We are active in encouraging engineering in the community as well as recruiting and nurturing young engineers into the workplace via our local UTC, who we work closely with. For example, we support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) activities as well as supporting the “Made in Sheffield” organisation. A number of our apprentices over the years have entered the “WorldSkills” competition with the UTC, often very successfully. One of this years apprentice starters has already reached the national finals, to be held later this year.

Bribery and Corruption

Inspec Solutions does not allow the direct or indirect offer, payment, solicitation, or acceptance of bribes in any form.

Employees will neither seek or accept any gifts, favours, or entertainment without a legitimate reason from any person or organisation that does or seeks to do business with Inspec Solutions. Gifts, favours, and entertainment may be given to others at the expense of Inspec Solutions provided these are consistent with normal business practice and are not of excessive value.

Inspec Solutions has a Bribery Policy in place which details the procedures all employees must follow to avoid involvement in any situation which might solicit a bribe. The policy clearly defines that any employee found to be involved in any kind of corrupt practice is likely to be immediately dismissed and may well have committed a criminal act which could lead to prosecution.
